For our client Fijnbuiten, we designed and manufactured custom steel stairs. This industrial straight staircase was fully tailored to the client’s requirements and the available space. The staircase has a width of 1,000 mm, a total height of 4,655 mm, and is fitted with a railing on one side.

The original design included a stair landing. During the design process, however, it became clear that a straight staircase construction was more practical and efficient for the available space. We therefore revised the design into a single straight custom steel staircase that fully aligns with the client’s specific dimensions and design preferences. Finish of the Steel Stairs

Custom steel stairs can be finished in virtually any color. For this project, the client chose a powder coat finish in RAL 9005 fine texture.

This black powder coating protects the steel effectively while giving the staircase a clean, industrial look. The result is a staircase that fits perfectly in a modern or industrial environment while maintaining a polished, professional appearance.

Custom Steel Stairs First Rendered in 3D

Before production begins, every custom steel staircase is fully developed in a 3D design. Our engineers use specialized design software for this purpose. These tools allow us not only to visualize the design but also to perform critical structural calculations.

Among other things, we verify:
• the load-bearing capacity of the structure
• the stability of the staircase
• the safety of the walking line
• the exact position of the treads and railings

The 3D drawing produces a complete technical design that is then used for production. This gives our engineers a precise overview of which components are needed and how the staircase is to be assembled.

Production of the Custom Steel Stairs

Once the design is approved, the staircase moves to our production department, where our engineers and skilled craftspeople build it according to the technical drawings.

Throughout this process, multiple checks are performed. The staircase is measured precisely on several occasions to ensure all components fit correctly. These checks include:
• the spacing between treads
• the incline angle of the staircase
• the length and position of the railing
• the spacing between the balusters

By conducting these checks during production, we can guarantee that the staircase is built exactly to design and specification.
